World Bank Assistance Increase Funds for Somalia

The World Bank increased the number of additional grants 500 million U.S. dollars to 1.88 billion U.S. dollars to help complete the problems caused by famine in the Horn of Africa region. World Bank Vice President for Africa Obiageli Ezekwesili brought it on Sunday (09/25/2011).

According to Xinhua news, the allocation of these funds to refugees in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Uganda. The countries in danger of starvation and severe malnutrition. Prolonged dry season this year was plagued region.
 
All of those funds, will gradually be disbursed by the end of June 2012 at 288 million U.S. dollars for the first session. Then, the World Bank will disburse the funds the second phase of 384 million U.S. dollars in fiscal year 2014. Finally, the disbursement of funds amounting to 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.
